Linqua is an AI-powered English speaking coach operated by Steven Holmes. Our website is linqua.ai. You can contact us at hello@linqua.ai.
What data we collect
When you register and use Linqua we collect:
- Your name, email address, country and self-reported English level provided during registration
- The content of your conversations with Dan during sessions, used solely to generate your assessment report
- Your assessment report data including mistakes, strengths and study plan
- Payment information processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card details
- Basic usage data including session dates and session types
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide and personalise your English coaching sessions
- Generate your assessment reports
- Save your session history to your account
- Send you your report by email when requested
- Send you service-related communications about your account
- Improve the Linqua product based on aggregated anonymised usage patterns
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of your consent given at registration and the legitimate interest of providing the service you have requested.
Data storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS in the EU West region. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant.
How long we keep your data
We retain your account data and session history for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@linqua.ai and we will delete it within 30 days.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk

Cookies
Linqua uses essential cookies only, required for login sessions and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies beyond the Meta Pixel used for measuring the effectiveness of our advertising.

Linqua uses the following third party services:

- Anthropic Claude for AI conversation and report generation
- Anam for AI avatar technology
- Azure Speech Services for pronunciation assessment
- Stripe for payment processing
- Resend for transactional email delivery
- Meta for advertising measurement
